Self-Advocacy is the ability to speak-up for yourself and the things that are important to you.
Engaging with the Self Advocacy movement can assist you to build your confidence and increase your awareness of social and community issues, which can result in you becoming an active and contributing citizen. You can network with other groups such as Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability (VALID), Self-Advocacy Resource Unit (SARU), New Wave (New Wave) and Gippsland Disability Advocacy Inc (GDAI). This is a great opportunity to gain new friendships and learn about your rights and responsibilities.
